Sunday morning adventures

Someone already asked me whatwhowherehow? So I thought I'd post my adventures in internetland for this morning.
I always check my mails(2 work, 2 for fun and 1 for school), Facebook and Twitter in the morning while gulping down my first cup of coffee.  By the time I've done that I'm normally on approx cup nr.4 and have ended up somewhere else entirely.

Like today. I open Twitter, see this tweet  by one of my fave artists James Jean(@):

RT @ It's gorgeous Shawn! I'm so excited! (cc @)
and like a good girl press the link in the tweet. I end up on the Twitpic page of a guy called Shawn Barber and see this:

A tattoo he's made from James Jean's art. As I find the pic beautiful I start going through his Twitpic feed and find out he's actually a painter too. So I Google him and surf onto his web page only to find all this incredible stuff:

At this point I'm in love and start reading up on the guy. I especially like one painting I see a tiny pic of and start looking for a good pic of it that I could save for further reference. While looking for it I also bump into these by Sylvia Ji on the way:

And while looking for a big enough pic to save on the lower pick, Marigold, I find this interesting article I save for later as I don't have time to read it now. And on the same page as the article is this pic:

That I find simply mesmerizing. (And you can apparently buy it here).

Wait! I was looking for the Shawn Barber pic! But first I found this with the same Google search

Which is a print by a guy called Aaron Horkey of which I've never heard before but really want to get to know now as his work reminds me of that by Ken Taylor whom I'm a huge fan of.

And can you blame me? Just look at these from Mr. Taylor:

At this point I'm at cup nr 2 of coffee and it has taken all of 10 minutes of my time. So 3-4 new artists and a few new pics, not bad for one morning. On top of these I found two new design blogs and a song I can't get out of my head now.

Oh and here's the Shawn Barber pic

Yes, as my boyfriend says, my Internet Fu is powerful. After a while you get very fast at this and end up finding the coolest things in cup sized breaks.

But yeah, time to start my actual workday and leave the internet be. Except that I still need to find a reference pic of a falconer... Hmmm... I think I saw one somewhere...
