I love Batman. There, I said it.
I disliked the character for the longest of times. I found Batman to be broody, moody and just too damn serious. On the other hand I loved Gotham City and it's villains. I read Gothan Central faithfully. Joker, Bane, Man-Bat, Black Mask and Hush made my heart sing. Not to mention the ladies, Catwoman, Harley and Ivy. I even liked Oracle and Nightwing. But Batman. Batman was just this big, black hole of boringness in the middle of it all.
It all changed thanks to my very cunning boyfriend. I was running out of things to read in the universe. I had read everything about every character around Batman.
So he gave me The Long Halloween by Sale & Loeb. And I fell in love. Then came Dark Victory and Year One. I was totally hooked. My boyfriend was glad to oblidge with my demands that we order every Batman comic there is NOW. From his sly smile I have a strong feeling he is laughing at me, the Batman-hater. But why would he? I've always loved Batman, really. I just didn't know it before.
